Have a wee nosey and follow if you like :)
I would like to say a quick thank-you to Bob Dylan, he got me through this project and also to the inventor of tea and oreos.
Amen to you guys.
Time Elly finished her project: 3:47 am 20th January 2012
Today started off as a complete disaster, stayed up till 4 am doing yet more research, came into the studio to find my tutor wasn’t in, so I couldn’t ask for their opinion on my work, literally could have cried! But thank the lord of Stephen took me round to the second year studios to see a tutor, who thankfully gave me some really good advice as to where to go with my work. It was suggested that I just strip the project back, and basically start again, with a blank canvas. So things we’re finally looking up and CLEAR! I stripped my project back to just using three letters; P,C & O. I worked from the photographs, using the information from the objects in the images. The P consisted of some really interesting stone work of a flower, I did an observational drawing of the flower in graphite. What I found interesting about the stonework was the use of layering, and it made me think a lot about the use of collage. I created a few more drawings of flowers, and took photographs of some flowers that i could print out and incorporate into my designs. The idea of collage also came from the use of the magazine as an O in my original alphabet. I really liked the curvature andquality of line created by the wire used to make the letter C in my alphabet. I wanted to include this in my designs as just a simple black line so that it wouldn’t over power the drawings and photographs that I wanted to use.
So. Much. Research. I can’t seem to focus on one idea at all, the more research I do the more of a mental rut I get into that I just can’t get out of. Going to have to speak to my tutor tomorrow because I am completely lost.
